Barney Cook (1961-2019)


Barney M. Cook was born November 13, 1961 in Willows. He was raised in Stonyford by his parents Barney and Barbara Cook along with four siblings. Barney passed away on June 29, 2019 at the age of 57.

Barney was best known by his nickname “Cook”

Barney attended Elk Creek High School where he played football and basketball.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved riding his motorcycle in the mountains.

After graduating high school, Barney worked as a timber faller and ran skidder for 20 years.  Barney also worked for his dad in construction, where he ran heavy equipment and helped with the family business, the Garbage Service.

Barney’s highlight in life was his two sons Dillon and Taylor. He loved his family more than anything.

Barney is survived by his sons, Dillon Cook of Idaho, Taylor Cook of Willows, Parents Barney and Barbara Cook of Stonyford, Sisters, Pamela Moore of Stonyford, Sandra and (Barry) Corbin of Stonyford, Brother Kenny and (Vicky) Cook of Willows and several Nieces and Nephews.  Barney is preceded in death by his Sister and Brother In-Law, Sherry and Allen Burt, Grandparents Max and Ginny Griffin and Edith Cook Berkland and Arthur “Barney” Cook.

Services will be held July 12, at 11 AM to 2 PM. at the Stonyford Community Hall.
