Life, as I see it : Right where we left off…

There are those people in our lives that you remember forever. They are the people, though you may not have seen for years, you pick up with ease where you left off and the conversation and friendship continues.

A chance meeting last week with my old friend Audrey opened the door to just such a meeting.

Yesterday, she came for lunch and we talked non-stop for about three hours.
It had been 15 years since our last visit. We have both changed, but our friendship has lasted.

As I’ve said many times, God gives us the people we need when we need them.
We (with the help of our friends) made another stride forward in our landscaping efforts.
Friend Scott hauled in two loads of scoria for the side yard. Yesterday, friend Tim came over with the skip loader and spread it out. Earlier in the week, the guys from Prairie Lumber delivered some border poles. You have to appreciate small town service.

Now, Tom sees the area as an artist pallet and can’t wait to get started creating out there.
The little shrubs we planted there earlier seem to be thriving. Well, there was the one I rode over with the mower. It’s not doing too well. I’m sorry to say one of our choke cherry trees may have met the same fate.

Prior to the scoria, Tom and I laid down weed barrier on the area. Doing that on a somewhat windy day was a bit of a challenge. But, we’re old and don’t want to admit to defeat, so we did it.

Life is good today. Keep moving.
