The field conditions were tough on both teams, but Colusa found a way to keep ball control for most of the match.
Colusa’s first goal was booted in at the 16th minute, by forward Victor Hernandez, with an assist from midfielder Ulises Galvan.
The Honkers would be awarded a penalty kick at the 32nd minute, and put in the equalizer. The 1-1 score held to the intermission. Colusa kept control of the midfield and was able to generate more offensive runs, and would score their second goal at the 64th minute on a nice follow up shot from forward Alejandro Rico, assisted by Victor Hernandez.
The RedHawks were able to hold off a late offensive run by Willows and maintain ball control for the remainder of the game.

The RedHawks had great defensive play from fullbacks Leo Guzman, Jesus Hernandez, Saul Velez, Adan Duran, and Darien Sarabia.
Also playing well were midfielders Edgar Garcia and Cesar Dominguez. Goalkeeper Diego Avila had a great game, and had 8 saves for the day.
Colusa will move on to the second round semi-final in Winters, against the Warriors on Tuesday. ■
