Williams athlete receives high recognition

Wiliams High School soccer athlete, Nayeli Contreras, has been recognized by EXOS as one of the top tier soccer players in the western region of California.

EXOS is ranked No. 1 in the world of sports performance. EXOS provides support for World Cup Champions, MLS Cup Champions, Men’s and Women’s National Teams, and several MLS organizations.

Contreras was one of 50 athletes at the EXOS Select 50 instructional showcase on Saturday, Oct. 12, in Carlsbad. She was recognized by EXOS for her varsity accomplishments for Williams High School.

Head Coach Kristi Hill accompanied Contreras for the weekend.

“This was an outstanding opportunity for Contreras,” stated Hill. “Going through the agility testing and playing an actual game with the other top selected athletes is pure motivation for Nayeli to be able to play at the college level in 2021.”

A college prospect, Contreras was evaluated by current college players and coaches for various levels of national, regional, and collegiate exposure. The Select 50 roster featured future college talent, all-state, and district athletes from California, Oregon, and Washington.

“This was a very exciting honor,” Contreras said. “The opportunity and new friends I made, who share the same love for sport as I do, is an experience I will always cherish.” ■
