Visiting the Mt. Shasta Bears last Friday night closed out the RedHawks Varsity football season with a 29-28 final score loss.
Both teams exploded in the first quarter but the Bears came out on top with a 21-14 lead.
Colusa found success in the third to tie the game, 21-21, and were the first to score in the fourth quarter with a rushing touchdown to a 28-21 lead.
But in the last minute of the game, Mt. Shasta answered back and found the end zone for six and a completed a two-point conversion, allowing them to claim the victory.
“The game plan was solid,” said Colusa High School senior, Riley Stice. “We played our hearts out but they got the upper hand. I am very happy to have played alongside an outstanding group of people.”
Colusa ended their season with a 5-6 overall record. ■
