(SPORTS PREVIEW) Colusa kicks in the new soccer season

Coming out of football season, Colusa High School will go right into futbol season, or soccer, if you will.

Dan Kiely will be returning as coach for the RedHawks boys soccer team.

Kiely said that all of his junior and senior players have been solid for the last two and three seasons and have great chemistry to play as a team. While all the teams within Division 3 in the Sacramento Valley League are tough competitors, Kiely is not flinching.

“There is a lot of soccer talent in our area,” said Kiely. “Competition gets tougher every season.”

Looking ahead, incoming freshman and sophomores boys look like they are going to be solid players and have been working well with the upperclassmen on the team, according to Kiely.

“Strong alone, unstoppable together,” Kiely said. “This team knows that if they want to succeed, they must work as a team.”

The boys team faced Marysville on their turf, Nov. 26 and will have their first home game against Williams on Dec. 3.■
