(SPORTS PREVIEW) Williams Basketball: Third year with a different coach

The Williams Yellowjackets basketball team will yet again see a change in the head coach position, for a third consecutive year. Tanner Bloom, Junior Varsity coach, has been handed the reigns for the 2019-2020 season.

Bloom will have just two returning starters, Mo Hernandez and Ozzy Ruiz, from the 2018 roster where the Yellowjackets were 15-12 overall. The loss of Hunter Povlsen and Anthony Davalos, who graduated last year, could be the critical factor to this year’s Williams offense.

Hernandez averaged 10 points a game last year and led Williams in 3-point shots, making his role on the team even more significant. Total roster information and other key player roles were unavailable due to a new coach.

Williams’ season kicked of Tuesday against Paradise. ■
