Colusa boys had a mixed bag of successes and loss through the week. Away in Hamilton City on Dec. 10, they eked out a win 58-56. During the Marysville Tournament, the RedHawks fell to the Wheatland Pirates in another close game of 68-67 on Thursday, dominated the SAEL Fire Wolves 89-22, and finished on a 80-65 loss to the Cougars from Antelope. The RedHawks will be playing in the Georgia Raczniak Tournament in Williams, beginning on Thursday.

The Lady RedHawks mirrored their brother team this week. The girls had a strong victory against the Hamilton Braves 43-25. During the Durham Trojan Classic, the girls lost to Fall River Bulldogs 44-25, and to Durham Trojans 35-24, then brought it back against Lower Lake Trojans with a close game of 32-31. The Lady RedHawks will be traveling to Hamilton City to play in the Marty Passaglia Tournament this Thursday.

Princeton boys fell to Core Butte 55-48 at a home game on Dec. 9. The Maxwell boys went up against the Princeton Eagles with a 70-55 success in their Irene Wells Tournament over the weekend, winning against Faith Christian 57-43, but then lost in a game against the Falcons 50-30. The Panthers are scheduled to play Princeton again after the new year and the Eagles will have another chance to even the score.

The Lady Panthers had a rough time in Woodland at the Warren Meyer Varsity Tournament. The girls lost against the Woodland Wolves, 35-21, and took a hard hit by Woodland Christian Cardinals 65-36, before succumbing to the Anderson Cubs, 48-12. The girls will have a long break to practice before the East Nicolaus Spartans come to play after the new year.

Pierce boys had a very tight game against Highland Scots but falling, 63-61. Another loss against Sir Francis Drake 43-37 was not a deterrent for the Bears who turned it around in the Red Brown Tournament, winning against Washington Eagles, 69-51, and garnering a close victory against San Domenico, 46-44. This weekend, the Bears will be in Colusa, playing in the Georgia Razniak Tournament.

The Lady Bears had a near perfect week with strong wins. A 56-34 win against Paradise on Dec 10 was followed by a powerful victory against Los Molinos, 54-10, and a 56-28 win against Live Oak, before finally succumbing to Corning, 57-48. The girls will be going to the Lady Trojan Classic beginning on Thursday.

The Lady Jackets were victorious against Winter, 34-27, on Dec. 9. The girls will be going up against Biggs after the new year.


Colusa boys celebrated a win against Winters, 2-0, and again in an away game when the RedHawks shut out Willows, 6-0. They will be going up against Redding Christian on Thursday at home.

Lady RedHawks lost when Winters came to play on Dec. 10, 7-0. The girls had a strong change in tactic when they traveled to Willows and won 5-0. The Lady RedHawks will be going against Sutter on Thursday on Colusa’s turf.

Pierce boys fell 2-0 to Esparto in an away game on Dec. 10. The Bears will be coming up against Paradise at an away game on Thursday.

Williams boys tied again this week in a 4-4 away match against Hamilton on Dec. 10. Then on Thursday, the Yellowjackets were successful at a home game against Durham, 5-2. The boys will be coming up against Esparto on Saturday at an away game.

The Lady Jackets won 4-3 when they faced down Hamilton on Dec. 10. The girls will have a break before going back out on the field in the new year.
