The RedHawks next three goals would be put in by forward Victor Hernandez, giving him the Hat Trick for the day. He was assisted by Ulises Galvan with two assists and Edgar Garcia with one assist.

Colusa’s last goal went in off a penalty kick taken by Diego Avila to put Colusa up 7-0, which would hold to the final whistle.

Goalkeepers Andres Lopez and Diego Avila had good outings with Lopez posting six saves in 60 minutes of play and Avila with one save in 20 minutes.

Colusa’s blowout game against Redding Christian followed a 2-1 victory against the Pierce Bears on Dec. 17.

The Red Hawks had a tough go against a very fast, athletic Bears squad, but was able to score at the 16th minute on a shot from forward Victor Hernandez, assisted by Ulises Galvan. With 10 minutes left in the first half, it was Hernandez again scoring, putting Colusa up 2-0, assisted by Rodrigo Rodriguez. The 2-0 score held to the half. Both teams traded shots in the second half, but Pierce would score their lone goal at the 60th minute mark, to bring the score to 2-1. Colusa had a few more scoring opportunities, but were just off the mark. The 2-1 score held to the end of the game giving Colusa the victory. The RedHawks had strong defensive play from fullbacks Jesus Hernandez, Miguel Torres, and Nicolas Lopez. Also playing well were midfielders Dominic Garcia and Edgar Garcia. Goalkeeper Diego Avila had a good day posting three saves.

Colusa now stands at 6-0-1 in SVL play and are 7-0-1 overall. The RedHawks will now be on break until Jan. 7, when they travel to Los Molinos for another exciting Sacramento Valley League matchup.■
