A $250,000 bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mario Robert Rafanan, 48, of Sacramento, after he twice failed to appear in Colusa County Superior Court.
Colusa Police officers arrested Rafanan and Thomas Jay Croft, 36, also on Sacramento, on July 28, during a routine traffic stop. Both men are previously convicted felons and were on searchable probation. Rafanan and Croft were found to be in possession of two loaded firearms, one of which came back stolen from Oregon, ammunition, and narcotics, according to the Colusa Police Department. Rafanan, who was released on bond, failed to appear in court on Aug. 5 and again on Sept. 2 to enter a plea. A new court date has not been set, pending his arrest.
Croft, also out of jail on bond, has pleaded not guilty. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 16 for the setting of a preliminary hearing.
