The Colusa Police Department and Colusa County District Attorneyās Office are on the look out for an Arbuckle teen suspected of shooting and killing another teen in Colusa on March 26.
Colusa Police Sgt. David Jackson said a warrant has been issued for Christian Allen Suarez, 19, whose whereabouts are currently unknown, following an extensive, round-the-clock investigation that fanned out over multiple counties.
Suarez is suspected of shooting Giovanny Antony Alcaraz, 19, of Williams, in the face around 7:10 PM on Westcott Road.
Alcaraz died at Enloe Medical Center, in Chico, around 4 AM the following morning, with his mother at his side, the family said.
Alcarazā family described the teen as a āsilly, passionate, and loving young man.ā
Alcaraz was born in Northern California on Jan. 4, 2001, and graduated at age 16 from the S. Williams Abel Community School, on June 14, 2017.
āGiovanny was always that silly down to earth kid who loved to have fun and loved his family,ā said Elisa N. Jorge Alcaraz, who has organized a fundraiser on gofundme.com to help the family with funeral expenses. āUnfortunately, he was taken away from us too soon and unexpectedly his life was cut too short.ā
In the days following Alcarazā murder, DA investigators, the Colusa Police Department, and Colusa County Sheriffās Department personnel launched an exhaustive probeĀ to find witnesses and perform the ever-widening investigation.
Suarez was named as the suspect as result of the tireless efforts of the Colusa County District Attorneyās Office Investigators, according to Colusa Police Chief Josh Fitch.
āI donāt know when they sleep,ā Chief Fitch said, in a statement.
The investigation into Alcarazās death and efforts to locate Suarez are ongoing. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Christian Allen Suarez is encouraged to contact Sgt. Jackson at (530) 458-7777 or Chief Investigator Dave Salm at (530) 458-0545. You can remain anonymous.
