Retired teachers honor others

Several Colusa County retired teachers Irmalee Schumacher, Pam Ramos, Donna Hawk, Beth Nall, and Barbara Scheimer recently presented local teachers with a California Retired Teachers Association Area II Division 53 stipend award.

Two of this year’s recipients are from Williams Unified School District.

Jessica Stuivenberg has taught third and fifth grades and is currently the Instructional Technology Coach/District Technology Trainer in Williams. She has been with the WUSD for over 20 years.

Angelica Perez has taught sixth grade, ELD in a self-contained class, English as a Second Language, and High School Spanish.

Perez has been with the WUSD for 27years.

In the Pierce Joint Unified School District, Susie Stassi and Michelle Cherry were honored.

Stassi has taught at Arbuckle Elementary for 24 years.  She taught one year in first grade, 22 years in kindergarten, and two years in second grade.

Cherry was hired by Pierce in 1995 and has spent her career teaching Kindergarten, first and second grades at Arbuckle Elementary.
