County of Colusa: Ordinance No. 808

AN UNCODIFIED ORDINANCE OF THE COLUSA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF COLUSA AND THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES’ RETIREMENT SYSTEM

WHEREAS, the County of Colusa Contracts with the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) to provide for employee retirement benefits;

WHEREAS, the County has entered into Memorandums of Understanding with the Colusa County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association and the Colusa County Management Coalition (collectively “MOUs”);

WHEREAS, the MOUs have been approved by the County and employees in each of the respective bargaining units;

WHEREAS, the MOUs provide for Classic Safety Members to pay an additional cost sharing pension contribution of three percent (3%) to reflect a total member contribution rate of twelve percent (12%); and

WHEREAS, the County is required to amend its contract with CalPERS to implement the increased pension contribution requirements agreed to by the respective employee bargaining units and the County.

NOW THEREFORE, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Colusa ordains as follows:

SECTION 1

That an amendment to the contract between the Board of Supervisors of the County of Colusa and the Board of Administration, California Public Employees’ Retirement System is hereby authorized, a copy of said amendment being attached hereto, marked Exhibit and by such reference made a part hereof as though herein set out in full.

SECTION 2

The Chairperson of the Board of the Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to execute said amendment for and on behalf of said Agency.

SECTION 3

This ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after its passage. It shall be published once with the names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against the ordinance in a newspaper of general circulation published in the County of Colusa, State of California, within fifteen (15) days after its passage.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors held on the 30th day of June 2020, and passed and adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Colusa, State of California, on the 4th day of August, 2020, by the following roll call vote:

AYES: Supervisors Kent S. Boes,

John D. Loudon, J. Merced Corona,

Gary J. Evans, and Denise J. Carter.

NOES: None.

ABSENT: None.
