PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the COLUSA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS will conduct a Public Hearing on August 18, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. in the County Board of Supervisors’ Chambers at 546 Jay Street, Suite 108, Colusa, CA, 95932 to consider POTENTIAL PROGRAM(S) FOR INCLUSION IN THE STATE’S COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE ROUND 1 (CDBG-CV1) FUNDING FOR LOCAL ASSISTANCE.  The Board of Supervisors will consider the information obtained for potential CDBG-CV1 programs and provide direction for staff to prepare an application for CDBG-CV1 funds for COVID-19 related activities that benefit low- and moderate-income residents.

Eligible cities and counties may submit applications for CDBG-CV funds under the above referenced NOFA and it is estimated that the County of Colusa will be eligible to receive up to $69,856 based on a formula provided by HCD.  For the CDBG-CV1 NOFA, Community Development activities and Economic Development activities with a focus on job retention as detailed in the CDBG-CV1 NOFA are allowed.    Eligible activities paid for with State CDBG funds must meet one or more of the eligible National Objectives listed in CDBG-CV1 NOFA including the Low- to Moderate-Income National Objective or the Urgent Need National Objective as detailed in the CDBG-CV1 NOFA.

The County of Colusa anticipates submitting an application under this NOFA and the County does not expect to expend any Program Income dollars in the next program year/contract term.

The County promotes fair housing and makes all its programs available to low- and moderate-income families regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual preference, marital status or handicap.

The purpose of this public hearing is to give citizens an opportunity to make their comments known regarding what types of eligible activities the County should be applying for under the State CDBG-CV1 NOFA.   Any member of the public may appear at the meeting and be heard on the item described in this notice or submit written comments
