NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Colusa Local Agency Formation Commission will hold a public hearing on the following item:

A. Consideration of a Service Review (MSR) and Sphere of Influence (SOI) Update for Fire Protection Agencies in Colusa County including:

Arbuckle-College City Fire Protection District

Bear Valley-Indian Valley Fire Protection District (partially in Glenn County)

Glenn-Colusa Fire Protection District (partially in Glenn County)

Maxwell Fire Protection District

Princeton Fire Protection District 

Sacramento River Fire Protection District

Williams Fire Protection District (the City of Williams and the WFPD have formed a JPA for Fire and EMS services)

LAFCO is charged with applying the policies and provisions of the Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg Act to its determinations regarding Service Reviews and Spheres of Influence.  LAFCO is required to be consistent with the policies and procedures of Colusa LAFCO and the LAFCO Act. 

The Draft MSR and SOI update documents will be available for review at the LAFCO website www.colusalafco.org five (5) days prior the hearing.   The contact person is John Benoit, Executive Officer who may be reached at (530) 458-0593 or j.benoit4@icloud.com  

Pursuant to Governor’s Executive Order N-29-20, this public hearing may be conducted entirely by teleconference or other electronic means due to the COVID-19 shelter in place orders. No physical location will be available. Members of the public who wish to attend and provide public comment may do so via teleconference and should consult the agenda for this meeting to be posted 72 hours before the scheduled start time and on LAFCO’s webpage at www.colusalafco.org for the call-in number

The public hearing will be held at 546 Jay Street, Colusa California on the 1st  day of October 2020 at 3:00 P.M., at which time and place interested persons may attend and be heard.  If you challenge the action of the Commission on any of the above stated items in court, it may be limited to only those issues raised at the public hearings described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Colusa Local Agency Formation Commission at, or prior to, the public hearing.
