NOTICE OF ELECTION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT an election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 for the purpose of electing officers in the Special Districts, as listed, for 4-year terms unless otherwise noted.

ARBUCKLE-COLLEGE CITY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
3 Directors seats to be filled, elected at large
Qualifications: Registered voter of the district.

CORTINA COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT
4 Directors seats to be filled, elected at large (two 2-year terms)
Qualifications: Registered voter of the district.

MAXWELL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
3 Directors seats to be filled, elected at large
Qualifications: Registered voter of the district.

MAXWELL PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
3 Directors seats to be filled, elected at large (one 2-year seat)
Qualifications: Resident and qualified voter of the district.

MAXWELL RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT
4 Directors seats to be filled, elected at large (one 2-year seat)
Qualifications: Registered voter of the district.

FILING PERIOD: Opens Monday July 13th and closes at 5:00p.m. Friday August 7th.

If an incumbent does not file, the filing period is extended through 5:00p.m. August 12th and is open to all qualified candidates except the incumbent.

If only one person has been nominated or an insufficient number of persons have been nominated to fill an office or offices, and a petition signed by 10% or 50 voters (whichever is the smaller number) has not been submitted, the elections official shall certify this fact to the Board of Supervisors.

A person who has filed a Declaration of Candidacy shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors at a regular or special meeting held prior to the first Monday before the first Friday in December. If no one filed, another person who is qualified on the date the election would have been held shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors and shall take office and serve as if elected.

TO FILE: Although not required, candidates are highly encouraged to call and make an appointment. Candidates obtain and file their official Declarations of Candidacy at the Office of the Colusa County Clerk-Recorder, 546 Jay Street, Suite 200, Colusa. For additional information call the County Elections Office at 458-0500.

Notice is further given that the polling places for said election will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. All ballots cast in said election will be counted centrally at the Colusa County Elections Office, Clerk-Recorder Registrar of Voters, Hall of Records, 546 Jay Street, Suite 200, Colusa, CA 95932. The counting process is open to the public.
