NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED WEEKLY ON WEDNESDAY - WEBSITE UPDATED THURSDAY

Letter to the Editor – Yuletide Dinner

Dear Editor,

The annual Yuletide Dinner has been a Christmas Day tradition in Colusa County for 35+ years.  Last Friday, well over 150 people were provided Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, thanks to the generosity of this wonderful community. About 90 “meals on wheels” were delivered to homebound seniors countywide from 11 AM to noon, and another 60 or so meals were delivered curbside at Friendship Hall from noon to 1 PM. All of the leftovers were donated to A Hand Up, which serves meals weekly year-round.

The Yuletide Dinner Committee would like to thank all those who donated their time, money, turkeys, and pies to make this year’s Dinner a festive success. We are also especially grateful for Rocco’s and Market Street Grill. These restaurants prepared potatoes, gravy, and dressing for the Yuletide meal even though they were closed to the public Christmas week.

And we would particularly like to acknowledge the very generous financial support from Colusa Industrial Properties, Garth Moore Insurance and Financial Services, Dennis LaGrande, and Don and Diane Bransford.

Our heartfelt thanks to the steady stream of individuals and families who helped set up, cook, carve, serve, and clean up. Best wishes for a blessed 2021.

Gratefully,

Barbara Ahola, Marie Critchfield, Elizabeth Yerxa
