The Williams Planning Commission has given the green light for the development of a new Holiday Inn Express Hotel.
The project is to be built on approximately 1.9 acres of land, located on Ruggeri Way.
“The hotel would be next to the Ramada Inn,” said City Planner Monica Stegall.
The three-story hotel would have a footprint of about $16,000 square-feet with a total area of 46,373 square-feet.
The hotel will have 80 guests rooms, nine of which will be Hearing Impaired Accessible, and five that are ADA accessible, Stegall said.
The Planning Commission on July 27 approved the design and site plan submitted by Suresh Patel, who previously planned to build a hotel on that site.
The project includes 96 parking spaces, including four ADA, along with appropriate landscaping. It will also include a large lobby, a breakfast room, fitness center, indoor pool, and a market.
“The design of the hotel includes a drop off canopy at the front of the hotel, and stone veneer treatment to break up the cement plaster,” Stegall said. “The project proposal is consistent with the city requirements.”
The city anticipates construction of the hotel to get underway late this year or early 2021, with an anticipated opening sometime in mid 2022. ■
