With the effects of Coronavirus policies and restrictions continuing into the holiday season, the Master Gardeners of Colusa County look to continue their workshops at a distance.
“It’s going to be something different this year,” said Gerry Hernandez, a UC Master Gardener of Colusa County on the Sept. 27 episode of ‘The one with a green thumb,’ on THE BACKPAGE, a podcast produced by the Pioneer Review.
Hernandez said the group is looking to assemble ‘take-and-make at home kits’ for their famous Pumpkin Centerpiece workshop.
“We will put together all of the items you need and have it available with all of the instructions you need to go home and assemble it,” said Hernandez.
The kits are available for $20, and you’ll receive everything you need.
To purchase the kit online at http://cecolusa.ucanr.edu/Master_Gardeners/ or in-person at 100 Sunrise Blvd., Ste. E in Colusa. The deadline to place your order is Thursday, Oct. 15.
The kits will be available for pickup Oct. 23 through Oct. 30.
In addition to the ‘take-and-make at home’ kits, the UC Master Gardeners of Colusa County have been busy filming videos for online instruction.
“We have done over 50 demonstration videos,” said Hernandez. “Most are on Facebook, or on our website, and some are on youtube.”
