Home Opinions Life, as I see it: Sad

Life, as I see it: Sad

The sun is shining and it’s toasty outside this Sunday morning.

I’m not one who enjoys the blazing heat but mornings like this are pretty nice.

Yesterday, Tom and I assembled our new patio dining set. It took us longer than most people because we’re old and easily confused. In the end we got it right and it looks great.

We’re now waiting for the final two items and the patio project will be complete.

I think next we’re going to tackle sanding and staining the back deck.

My herb garden is flourishing in the recent heat. Son Val brought to us beautiful lettuce they grew from seed.

It’s that time of year when all of the good things start to blossom and produce. There’s nothing like fresh vegetables .

My mother, auntie and grannies always had a great garden. It was one of my mom’s favorite things to do when she got to host what she dubbed a vegetable dinner. It was tasty.

This week as we laid to rest my forever friend John I was reminded why I love living in Beach ND. Gathered together were any number of people that have become over the years like family to me.

When we came back to Beach, it was truly like coming home.

I have been blessed in my life to have two homes. The folks I know and love in California will forever be my family as well.

As I get older, I know I am where I belong. It somehow seems safer here out on the prairie than it does in the rest of the world these days.

I am so sad to see the violence and the destruction that is going on these days.

Pulling down monuments is not the answer. It’s bad enough to see this happening to historical sites, but when they start to target statues of Jesus Christ because they are made of white marble that is just too much for this old girl to handle.

Prepare people to be smote!

Does anyone remember the scene from the movie “Michael” when angel Michael smotes the bank that was cheating his elderly friend? Just sayin’. . .

Year 2020 hasn’t  been all that great. But we can take courage from our faith. I believe there is a plan for all of us.

Prayer and action is my manta. Live what you pray.

Life is good today.
