Just one lucky cast could win an angler $10,000.
Nor-Cal Guides and Sportsmens Association will host a two-day fishing competition that will not only award the big prize but cash and prizes for top anglers, first through 10th place.
As a Targeted Slot Length event, Ruler Boards will be issued every morning of competition at the Colusa Sacramento River State Park and Colusa Boat Ramp prior to the start of competition fishing, officials said. Competitors can launch at the Colusa Boat Ramp, Tisdale, and Boyd’s Pump in Marysville.
“We are so excited to hold this event in Colusa,” said NCGASA President, James Stone, in a press release. “We did it in 2019 and had to skip 2020 because of COVID. Everyone is looking forward to competing for the big money this year.”
Weigh-ins will be held from 2:30- 4 PM both days at the State Park, which is adjacent to the Colusa Boat Launch on 10th Street, in Colusa.
A barbecue lunch is included with the entry fee, as are vendors, a chair massage tent, Live DJ, and raffles.
Kids are invited to participate and compete in the festivities, organizers said. Trophies will be awarded for the winner of targeted slot length and big fish.
“The City loves hosting the Colusa Striped Bass Derby,” Colusa City Mayor Josh Hill said, in a prepared statement. “Since this is a two-day event, we invite everyone to check into a Colusa hotel or eat at one of our great restaurants. We are also offering secure overnight boat parking for anyone staying overnight in Colusa.”
Competitors can find applications and fee information at colusastripedbassderby.com or by contacting Stone at email@example.com.
