Clara Mae Rutledge

1946-2021

Clara Mae Rutledge, age 74, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2021.

She was born December 8, 1946 in Roanoke Virginia. She married her longtime friend and love, Donald Eugene Rutledge, in July of 1965. Clara loved everyone, and everyone she met loved her.  She had the most contagious smile and the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known.  She loved to sew and knit, especially when she was knitting blankets for her great grand babies. She loved to go Camping with her family and friends and their family and friends, the more the merrier.  She also loved the ocean, and her toes in the sand. Clara’s favorite color was blue and her favorite bird was the Hummingbird, she had hummingbird feeders all over. And now I get it, Clara was just like a Hummingbird; Beautiful, cheerful, spreading her happiness with everyone, everywhere she went.

Clara is survived by her husband of 55 years, Don Rutledge, her brother Bruce Dennis (Michelle Dennis), her sisters; Annie English, Frances Dennis (Dennis Correa), Georgette Dowden, her two daughters; Regina Lunsford (William Lunsford) and Pamela Rutledge, her grandchildren; Trinadi Lewis (Miles Lewis), Shane Bailey, Nathan Bullock, Zachory Bullock (Amanda Bullock) her great grandchildren; Tyler, Tyson, Tegan, Landon, Max, Braydon, Abigail, and Charles, and her many nieces and nephews  and great nieces and nephews.  All of whom she loved and cherished so very deeply.

She was welcomed into heaven with open arms by her two sons, Donny, and Timmy and her Mother and Father.

Please join us for Graveside Service on Sunday, March 7 at 1 PM at the Arbuckle Cemetery and then a Celebration of her Life to follow at the Arbuckle Golf Course.

Please be safe and wear a Mask.
