Brenda K. MacPherson, 75 of Colusa, passed away at her home, with her family at her side, on Feb. 19, 2021.

Brenda was born Oct. 08, 1945 to Robert L. Harris and Amey Harris in Steele, Missouri, the youngest of four children.

Brenda’s Family relocated to California when she was in elementary school. They resided in Martinez for some time before settling into Colusa. Brenda attended high school in Colusa and was involved in many activities, including Rainbow Girls, class secretary, student council, drama and cheerleading.

She worked a couple different jobs after high school that included bookkeeping before going to work for the local phone company for 27 years, where she retired as an office supervisor.

Brenda met Sherman MacPherson, the love of her life in 1982. It was a double date with dancing, dinner, and a long night out followed by breakfast in the morning. The adventures kept getting better. They got married in the back yard of their new home in Chico on Oct 29, 1983, went camping in San Felipe as well as the Mendocino coast, Butte Meadows, Lake Amador and many more places. They traveled to all of the lower 48 states, the Bahamas, Australia, England and Scotland (When Stephen’s family was stationed there). They owned homes in Durham, three in Chico and Colusa, remodeling most of them. They were the perfect team.

Brenda had two children, a son Cristopher Vieira and a daughter, Jennifer.

Gardening was Brenda’s passion, along with canning and family dinners. Later in life she was known for her faith in God and was a member of The First Presbyterian Church in Colusa, she was an inspiration to so many.

Brenda is survived by her husband Sherman of Colusa, daughter Jennifer (Bob) Immoos, her stepson Stephen (Mandi) MacPherson, and grandchildren Dustin, Asa and KayCee Potts, Chad, Chase and Jenna MacPherson, and great-grandchildren, Jessi, Nicolai and Ashlyn, all of Washington. She is predeceased by her son, Cristopher Vieira, her two brothers, Jimmy and Howard Harris, a sister Barbara Main and parents, Robert and Amey Harris.

A memorial service will be held on March 13, 2021, at the First Presbyterian Church, 326 Jay St. Colusa, at 11 AM. Due to COVID restrictions, seating maybe limited. Private graveside services will be held at the Sutter cemetery at 1 PM.

Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for all who have been on this journey with us. God bless you.
