Live Oak takes Colusa in Tennis match

Colusa’s No. 1 player Emily Cerney, shown in a photo from a previous match, picked up a straight set win over her SVL opponent from Live Oak on March 3.

In its second outing of the season, Colusa’s girl’s tennis team picked up two singles wins, but ultimately succumbed to Live Oak, who eked out three wins in the match.

Playing in the No. 1 spot, Emily Cerney downed her opponent in straight sets by scores of 6-0, 6-2 while at No. 2, Abby Smith outlasted hers in a tight match winning 6-6(7-3), 6-5.

Renee Wrysinski, Jasmine Bernardo and Joanna Rodriguez all fought hard but dropped their matches.

Due to modifications as a result of COVID-19, no doubles matches are played.

Colusa faced off against Paradise on Tuesday, March 9, at home, and then followed up by hosting Sutter on Thursday, March 11.
