An abbreviated high school golf season came to an end for the Williams and Colusa golf teams Thursday, March 11, after taking part in a dual match at the Colusa Golf and Country Club.
While the Yellowjackets didn’t report any scores from the match, coach Darren Robinson was pleased with the strides his players made over the course of the season.
“The season went very well for us,” said Robinson. “Though it was short, we got some good practice time in, and the team as a whole improved tremendously.”
With Robinson at the helm, Williams is steadily improving a program that four years ago was nearly non-existent.
Colusa wrapped up its season, hosting Paradise on Tuesday, March 9, before its final contest against Williams.
Senior Logan Book led the RedHawks and capped off his high school career by posting scores of 44 and 45.
Junior Madison Reister turned in rounds of 47 and 48, while sophomore Clayton Book shot a 52 against Paradise but took seven shots off his score against Williams to finish with a 45.
Also playing in his last match for the RedHawks was Mason Saso, who recorded a 58 and 52, while junior Chase Carrere was consistent with a 52 on both days.
