Colusa JV baseball notches first win

It was a strong start to the season for the Colusa JV baseball team as they downed Middletown 9-4 in their opener on March 16.

Niko Silvas led the way for the RedHawks tossing a complete seven inning game where he allowed just three hits and two earned runs, while registering eight strike outs.

At the plate, Silvas helped his own cause by finishing 3 for 3 with two doubles and two runs scored.

Other top hitters in the game included Peyton Humphrey, who was 2 for 4 and drove in a pair of runs along with Seth Kalisuch, who picked up two hits in five at bats.

Colusa (1-0) was scheduled to host Princeton on Tuesday, March 23, before competing the season series with Middletown on Friday at home.
