Local Facebook Group Shows Support

On Monday, April 30, a very special fundraising dinner will be held at the Denny’s in Williams from 5 to 10 p.m. These special dinner hours will be hosted by Denny’s of Williams to raise funds for four year old, Talli Davis who is undergoing treatments for Ewing Sarcoma Tumor a vary rare and aggressive cancer.

Denny’s will donate 20 percent of the gross receipts, and all donations that evening will go towards the Talli Davis fund to help assist with the costs of transportation during her long and extensive chemotherapy and radiation sessions in San Francisco. A special flyer will be required to allow the proceeds of your dinner ticket to go towards the fund and will be available the night of the dinner; additionally Denny’s of Williams has allowed for our readers of the Williams Pioneer Review to cut out this article to act the same as the flyer.

Talli is the young daughter of Jon and Jacy Davis of Grass Valley, although not local – her courageous battle has touched the hearts of our community.

Her appearance was first made on the online social networking site, Facebook. A group called ‘Online Yardsales – Colusa County’ where a friend of the family posted a cry for help.

“I don’t know if I am allowed to post something like this on here, but it’s worth a shot. My Moms, Boyfriends Granddaughter, Talli Davis has Cancer. She is three years old.” Said Jessica Lynn Matilda Mahorney, “I know you guys don’t know her, but if you have a few dollars please donate to help them out.”

This lit a spark within the group and within just a few days, individuals were donating proceeds of their sales to the fund – and some service professionals like Barbara Gomes whom donated a portion of her proceeds from her manicure business.

Talli’s mother, Jaci Davis, shared her appreciation through Gloria Cook the moderator of the group. “How incredibly kind hearted you all are! I had noticed a bunch of donations coming in from that area and thought it was just one of my family members down there spreading the word one day. We are so beyond grateful!”

The graciousness of the community has not stopped there. Steelhead Lodge Bar and Grill in Colusa, will be hosting a ‘Rally for Talli’ Spaghetti Dinner. The dinner will start at 5:00 p.m. and all proceeds from the dinner will go towards the Talli Davis Fund. Raffle Tickets and Backed Goods will be available for purchase.

Denny’s of Williams welcomes any group or organization to host a benefit night at the restaurant, for more information please contact Michelle Baldwin at (530) 473-5960.
