Williams Fun Run a Success

Submitted to the WPR

There were 74 total participants in the Williams Fun Run on Sat., May 19 – the most ever! Of those 74, 36 were students from Williams Jr. High and High Schools. The 1 mile run/walk included 11 entrants and there were 63 runners and walkers in the 5K. The oldest walker was 70 and the youngest (in a stroller) was 11 months. All participants were monitored on the course by the Williams Fire Department and WHS Cheerleaders. Refreshments were consumed by all and everyone happily left with a raffle prize.

The event raised over $1500 to help pay for the new electronic sign that is currently being placed on the school lawn. ■
