Marian was born on June 24, 1924 in Herrin, Illinois, to LA and Pearl Mifflin.She passed away on July 24, 2012 at Colusa Regional Medical Center.She was the youngest of 4 children.
She was educated in the Herrin public schools and attended southern Illinois University and the University of Minnesota. She left school in 1944 and went to work in the engineering department of Curtiss Wright Aircraft Company helping build airplanes for the Navy.
After the war, she continued to work for several different aircraft companies. In 1963, she moved to southern California and went to work in the Public Works Department of Ventura County.
In 1973, she moved to Central California and went to work as field engineer for a large commercial construction company. She worked on many large projects, such as dams, municipal Water Treatment Plants, Sewage Treatment Plants, and Drainage Facilities. She met and married David Jenkins, who worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the same company.
After retirement in 1991, wanting to move out of the busy Bay Area, they decided that Colusa was an ideal retirement town. They moved to Colusa in 1994.
They loved to bowl and met many new friends bowling in leagues in Colusa and Yuba City.Marian was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers, and her beloved husband David.
She is survived by her step-daughter Dia and her husband, Darrin and their sons Calvin and Travis. She is also survived by her loving and caring friends Bertha Bedolla and family.
