Letter to the Editor: Williams Pioneer Day

31

On behalf of the Citizens for a Better Williams, I would like to say THANK YOU to all the folks who made our Pioneer Day festivities such a success.

From the Williams Public Works people, the Williams Police Department, the Williams Fire Department, The Colusa County Volunteers the Williams Police explorers, all the folks who participated in the parade, those who volunteered to judge and the CBW members themselves, you all did an outstanding job. Well Done!

A big thank you to Lloyd Green who works so hard to organize the vendors and we thank everyone who participated in the street faire.

The mural dedication…..what can I say….it was a perfect way to celebrate the artistry of California Muralist John Ton who out did himself with our project. A special thank you goes out to Hal Stober who always hits a home run with his tributes, Mary Wells for representing the Williams family, Jeff Gilbert for representing the city in the absence of our city administrator, and of course Governor Brown who made a surprise, last minute appearance in the parade and at the mural dedication.

All the tributes would have gone unsaid if it wasn’t for all of the folks who supported the mural project from its inception through to the end. Your donations, words of encouragement and input were all appreciated and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It takes a village and you have shown us that the village has pride, and is dedicated to see our little town become as great as it once was.

To cap off a perfect day the fireworks sponsored by Morning Star Packing, once again were over the top and we appreciate your constant support in all you have done for us in our hometown improvements. If I have missed anyone, I truly apologize. There were so many who did so much and we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!
