Letter to the Editor: Arbuckle Almond Fun Run

19

I want to express my sincere thanks to the organizers and participants of the recent Arbuckle Almond Fun Run.  This year, the proceeds from this fun and healthy event benefited agricultural education and the FFA at Pierce High School.  At our school, more than 200 students participate in FFA and reap the many benefits of vocational education through floral design, animal and ag science, ag biology, wood shop and a variety of metal fabrication and engines courses.  The opportunity to learn hands-on skills that may even lead to careers is one that makes FFA such a influential program.  We also know those opportunities don’t come for free.  Our funding source, while recently secured for the time being, is never a sure thing.  I just wanted to make sure all those who made this event possible know how grateful we are for their support. So thank you once more.

Sincerely,
Mary Marsh
President
Arbuckle FFA
