144-pounds of Marijuana Seized During Traffic Stop

A Tacoma, Washington man was arrested after 144 pounds of marijuana was found during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 just south of Highway 20 in Williams, authorities said.

At approximately 11:12 PM on Thursday, September 24, 2015, a Williams Police Officer noticed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 20, at a high rate of speed. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle where the driver is identified as 29-year-old, Ermal Fejzaj.

While conducting the traffic stop, the officer noted the smell of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle, this led the officer to investigate and a vehicle search.

With the assistance of the Colusa County Narcotic Enforcement Team and the Sheriff’s Department, officers discovered, approximately, 144-pounds of marijuana, vacuum sealed and packaged for sale within the vehicle.

Fejzaj was taken into custody without incident.

The Narcotics Enforcement Team seized approximately, $850 in cash from Fejzaj, and took possession of the Marijuana, as well as numerous other items of evidence.

Fejzaj was later booked into the Colusa County Jail for felonious possession of marijuana for sale and felonious transportation of marijuana. ■
