Williams Welcomes New Police Chief

After a months-long search, the City of Williams has a new police chief.

John Osbourn was welcomed as the new police chief at the September 16, Williams City Council Meeting.

“This is truly amazing, I keep waiting for someone to pinch me and wake me up,” said Osbourn who is enthusiatic about the job ahead.

Osbourn brings over 18 years of experience in law enforcement; serving the last four years as the Yuba Community College Districts Chief of Police, and 14 years at the Marysville Police Department as the Division Commander.

“Community policing has always been my passion, and that is what drew me to this department,” said Osbourn, “The Williams Police Department has an outstanding line of communication with its residents and I hope to continue to expand on that.”

Osbourn added, “It is an honor to be here and to be able to serve the Williams community as Police Chief.”
