Colusa Hosts Downtown Harvest Festival

As dozens of local businesses participating in the Colusa County Chamber of Commerce’s Scarecrow Contest, the downtown streets paved the way to the third annual Harvest Festival at the Historic Colusa County Courthouse.

Scores of community members from around the area came to celebrate the Fall Season – although attendance appeared to be down from previous years. Those who attended browsed local vendors, picked a pumpkin and watched children parade down the street in their Halloween costumes. It was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere of small town life.

The Colusa County Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of the 2015 Scarecrow Contest with first place being awarded to Lyndsay Ropers Photography, of Colusa; second place was awarded to Market Street Grill of Colusa; and third place was awarded to Alsco-Ace Hardware in Arbuckle.

Participants of the Harvest Festival were given the opportunity to select their favorite at the Chamber of Commerce’s information booth. The people’s choice honor was awarded to Davies Chevron of Colusa.
