Colusa Senior to Host Crossfit Competition

DSC04758Colusa High School Senior, Hailey Werre, and Colusa Strength and Conditioning (CCSC) will be hosting a CrossFit Style Competition on April 9, 2016, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at 1023 Main Street in Colusa.

The novice competition will be open to all age groups, and in teams of two.

“Teams must be one male and one female,” said Werre, “and registration is limited to 40 teams.”

Werre started the Youth Olympic Weightlifting group at CCSC in December as part of her senior project.

“Since there isn’t an interest in Olympic weightlifting, we decided to do a Crossfit style event,” said Werre, “the Novice team event will give these teen athletes a chance to compete.”

The team registration fee is $100, and proceeds will benefit the youth fitness program at CCSC.

“We hope people will come out and support the event,” said Werre.

Werre also commented that the competition will have spaces available for vendors to sell items or promote their products.

“We also need volunteers to help with registration, judging, and cleanup,” said Werre, “we are seeking t-shirt sponsors for the event as well.”
