Two pounds of meth seized during Colusa traffic stop

A Colusa Man was arrested after police seized over two pounds of methamphetamines during a traffic stop at Butte Vista Way at Florimond Drive in Colusa.

According to the Colusa City Police Department, an officer stopped a vehicle driven by Robert Belmontes, 58, of Colusa.

“A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the seizure of over two pounds of methamphetamine and packaging materials consistent with drug sales,” said Colusa Police Chief, Josh Fitch.

Fitch estimated that the methamphetamine had a street value of $15,000.

Belmontes, subsequently arrested on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, and transportation of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Colusa County Jail where bail was set $200,000.
