River Cleanup this Weekend

photo-river-cleanup-file-photoIt’s time to clean up the river bank again. Saturday, Sept. 17, at 10:00 AM at the Sacramento River State Park in Colusa. Premier Mushrooms Inc., Central Valley Gas Storage and Steelhead Lodge are sponsoring the annual effort to keep our waterways clean and free of debris.

Premier Mushrooms Inc. Sustainability Manager Kevin Foley is once again heading up this event and it will be the 5th time the event has been held in Colusa. As in previous years, the volunteers will be treated to lunch following the clean-up courtesy of Steelhead Lodge.

The local effort is held each year on the third Saturday of September in conjunction with the State’s largest volunteer event, California’s Coastal Clean-up Day.

Foley said he is pleased with the support and volunteerism the project has received in Colusa: “Everyone has always come out ready to get their hands dirty, and we’ve been lucky to have so much support.”

If you are interested in being a part of this event, please contact Kevin Foley at kfoley@premiermushrooms.com or Kathy Craigo at kcraigo66@hotmail.com or by calling Craigo at (530) 458-3704.
