Just in time for the holidays, Maxwell Elementary students performed its annual Christmas Program, last Thursday evening.
With a packed gymnasium, Maxwell students aged kindergarten through fifth grade were given a standing ovation for their performances; enjoyed by their family, friends and local community residents.
The theme “Merry & Bright” included a plethora of Christmas music, dancing, and costumes. Musical performances included Feliz Navidad by the fourth grade, Jingle Bell Rock by the fifth grade and a cool Hawaiian theme by the third grade.
“This year’s performance was fantastic. The kids came out proud to put on a performance for their family, friends and community.” said program director Vicki Wilson.
Mister and Miss Merry Christmas were announced with Millie LaGrande and Eriberto Lara receiving their titles.
During intermission, the crowd was entertained by the junior high school band and participated in the opportunity raffle to help raise money for the evening’s costumes, props, stage decorations and audio needs.
Raffle winner JP Ramirez won pastries from Kims Cafe.
“It felt awesome to win, and I was excited to eat my winnings,” said Ramirez.
