Museum to host local photographers, Saturday

The work of some of the region’s finest photographers will be on display at the Sacramento Valley Museum in Williams over the course of the next month, as the museum board looks to bolster attendance and offer something new to the community.

“Basically, we’re just trying to get people into the museum and showcase some of the local photographers from around here,” said Sacramento Valley Museum staff member Sajit Singh.

On Saturday, the museum will hold an artist’s reception for the featured photographers, among whom are Colusa County residents Cody Ornbaun, Richard Lau, and Sue Graue, along with Glenn County’s Wayne Wilson.

“This was kind of a spur of the moment reception – we’ve been wanting to do something along the lines of this for some time, and finally did,” said Singh.

Singh said that the photographers would be displaying a number of landscape photos that capture the Sacramento Valley through a unique perspective, highlighting features of the region that residents sometimes take for granted.

“We live in a really beautiful area… and these photographers have a really cool eye, and offer a good perspective on our valley and the things that they see here,” Singh said.
