Letter to the Editor (01/24/2018)

Dear Editor,

Let’s get this party started!

Registered Democrats who are registered voters in Colusa County are invited to help get the party organized in the county at a meeting on Thursday, February 8, 2018, 6:30-7:30pm at the Lodge in Williams. Colusa County is currently the only county without representation to the California Democratic Party.

The primary goal of the February 5 meeting is to complete the steps necessary to gain official status within the California Democratic Party. Agenda items include approving the bylaws, electing officers, and establishing a list of representatives from the supervisorial districts.

The group’s official name will be the Colusa County Democratic Central Committee (CCDCC). It will serve as the official representative of the Democratic Party in Colusa County. Officers include the Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and Parliamentarian. Terms are one year. Meetings will be held every other month.

Purposes of the CCDCC include campaigning and endorsing candidates in partisan and non-partisan elections, providing a forum for the study and discussion of public issues, and encouraging the fullest participation of all Democratic voters.

The Lodge is located at 528 Seventh St. in Williams. For more information and/or to receive a copy of the draft bylaws, please contact Pam DaGrossa (530-619-0032, pam.dagrossa@gmail.com) or Pat Ash (530-520-0096, patash2385@gmail.com).
