Colusa High School Sober Grad-Night Hosts Carnitas Feed on January 28th

Families may be searching for an alternative for the Colusa Fire Fighters Crab Feed as the event has expected sell out. This year an alternative to the favorite crustacean feast is one from a hometown favorite: Carnitas!

On Saturday, January 28th, from 4pm to 8pm the Colusa High School Sober Grad-night committee will be hosting a To-go Carnitas Dinner at Birchfield Primary School.

The Dinner will include home-style carnitas, rice, beans, tortillas and salsa. The meal is prepared by Juan Silva along with parent volunteers. Just drive up, present your ticket and drive off with a delicious meal.

Tickets are $10 per plate, and can be purchased from a grad night committee member or contact, Lydia Medina at (530) 701-3678.

Proceeds from ticket sales help benefit the Colusa High School Sober Grad Night, 2012. Sober Grad Night is a all night party organized by the parents of Colusa High School Seniors whom wish to provide a safe environment for the graduates to celebrate with their friends. Graduates are provided with a great party, with lots of activities, music, fun, prizes and more. The event is supervised and an alcohol-free party.

Over 30 years ago, Sober Grad Nights were started throughout California as a life-saving program as drinking and driving related traffic deaths are the number one cause of death among teenagers.

The party is funded through ticket sales, donations and fundraising. The event vent is organized by Colusa High School parents. ■
