Four arrested in Saturday night burglary

A report of suspicious activity at the trailer park at the Colusa Landing on Sunday led to the arrest of three Butte County residents and one Colusa County resident who the Colusa County Sheriff’s Office say burglarized a house on Highway 45 the night before.

According to Sgt. Jacob Parker, officers responded to Rocco’s on the River on Sunday afternoon after four people were reported as acting suspiciously, reportedly “lurking around the parking lot near people’s trailers.”

Deputies responded and made contact with the four individuals, who were making use of the amenities – bathrooms and showers – at the Colusa Landing, which are there for guests.

“After making contact, it was learned that one of the individuals had a warrant, and the other was violating a restraining order,” Parker said, adding that all of the subjects appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

During their investigation, deputies noticed that the subjects were in possession of items that resembled some of those that were reported stolen earlier in the day, related to a burglary that occurred on the 200 block of Highway 45 in Colusa on Saturday night.

“We received the report on Sunday morning,” Parker said. “(The owner of the property) came home and saw that someone had kicked in her door, had vandalized her house, and stole some of their jewelry and silver.”

The value of the stolen items, which included precious metals and jewelry was estimated at around $2,000.

Officers ultimately confirmed that the property located with the four subjects  at the Colusa Landing was stolen from the Highway 45 residence, and also located burglary tools including gloves, masks, and pryers, Parker said. Each of the four subjects was arrested on various charges.

Michael Patrick Anderson, 34, was arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen property, burglary, possession of burglary tools, violating a court order to prevent domestic violence, and obstructing or resisting a peace officer. He was booked into the Colusa County Jail, with bail set at $50,000. Rachael Lee Hall, 29, of Chico, was arrested on suspicion of the same charges, as well as possession of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia. Her bail was also set at $50,000. Nathan Williams Gould, 27, was arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia. All three are residents of Chico, though Hall has ties to Princeton. Marliesa Hall Marble, 32, of Princeton, was arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and was held on a Colusa County warrant for felony identity theft. Both Gould and Marble had their bail set at $10,000.

The story ended happily for the victim of the burglary on Highway 45, as all of the stolen property was returned to them, Parker said. ■
