Richard Charles Steidlmayer (1933-2019)

Richard Charles Steidlmayer (85) of Colusa, passed away on February 9th, 2019. He was born on October 25, 1933 to Charles Rudolph Steidlmayer and Ida Mae Sevigny.

Richard aka “Big Bean” was a well known farmer of 70 years in the Colusa community.  He was born on the family farm, and worked there his entire life. He was also a successful businessman with S & W Threshing and R & D Farms.In addition, he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus for Our Lady of Lourdes. He was an accomplishedhunter, fisherman, gold miner, rock polisher, and gemstone cutter.  Once he was semi-retired, he enjoyed spending his winters in Arizona, but he always was ready to get on a tractor or in a harvester while he was in Colusa.

Richard is survived by his daughtersCatherine Schoder (Tim) of Colusa, Stephanie Quintana (Robert) of Colusa, Christine Rodriguez (Jesse) of Colusa, Jeanette Steidlmayer of Yuba City; sons Richard Steidlmayer (Patti) of Colusa, Michael Steidlmayer (Kerry) of Colusa; brother Jim Steidlmayer (Lorrie) of Connecticut; he is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.  He is pre-deceased by his loving wife, Sally Steidlmayer, of 57 years, sister Betty Ceragioli of Walnut Creek, and brothers David and Louis Steidlmayer of Colusa.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at McNary-Moore Funeral Chapel at 107 5thStreet, Colusa, CA 95932 with a Rosary starting at 7:00 p.m.  A funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 345 Oak Street, Colusa, CA 95932 with a burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 1741 Wescott Rd, Colusa, CA 95932.

Memorial contributions go to Carmelite Monastery, 1000 Lincoln St., Santa Clara, CA 95050; Our Lady of Lourdes School, 741 Ware Ave, Colusa, CA 95932; and The Knights of Columbus Colusa Chapter.
