It’s pool day. The ground is level, weed barrier and liner are spread, and the set-up crew has it done. It’s filling as I write. Thanks to son Val and Sami. It’s wonderful to have healthy and fit young people willing to help us.
We will have the inaugural pool party on Thursday when we celebrate our little Aubree’s birthday.
It’s beginning to look like a spa out back. We take a lot of pleasure in making our house and our yard comfortable and inviting.
Our friends Walt and Tara Losinski opened a new business here in Beach, ND, this past week. 3rd Ave Liquors is now open. A lot of hard work, much of it a labor of love, went into getting the store ready to open.
I’ve known Walt and Tara for a very long time, but I never knew Walt was such a craftsman. The store, right up to the recycled wood ceiling and the handcrafted wine racks, are wonderful. I wish them nothing but the best of luck.
The building is surely a labor of love for the couple. It was once home to B’s Catering and owned by Tara’s parents Swenda and the late Gary (Huey) Braden.
Back when my late husband David was so ill, Walt and Tara owned a restaurant. At the restaurant they featured a Sunday buffet. At the close of lunch each Sunday, Walt would package up plates of food for us. He didn’t want us to do without Sunday dinner.
They are just good people and I wish them the very best of success.
We spent the July 4th holiday at the annual Braden picnic.
It brought back a flood of memories of the many picnics enjoyed with the Braden family.
Life goes a full cycle it seems.
Life is good today. ■
