Marion Valadez (1947-2019)

The Suarez family is sad to announce the passing of their mother Marion Valadez on July 11, 2019 at the age of 72 years.  Marion will be lovingly remembered by her family; son Jessie (Lorie) of Lincoln, daughter Alicia (Julio) of Williams, son Aaron (Morgan) of San Diego, daughter Julie (Enrique) of Williams and her beautiful grandchildren Mariah & Joaquin Suarez, Denica, Darleny & Mia Juarez, Maria & Alex Suarez, Robert Orozco, Robby Bustos, & Antonio (Dido) Gonzalez.  Marion was preceded in death by her daughter Maria, parents Raymond and Margaret Fong, Alejandro Suarez and husband Juan Valadez.

Marion was born in Bremen, Germany and raised in College City, California.  She is survived by her 8 sisters and brothers, Maxine, Marcel, Monica, Marina, Marcia, Margie, Marty, & Marcus.  She graduated from Pierce High School and continued her education at the University of California, Davis & California State University, Chico. Marion worked in banking & for Migrant Education prior to becoming a teacher in 1993.  She enjoyed a 20-year career at Williams Elementary School before retiring in 2013.  Marion’s passion for teaching never ended as she returned as a substitute teacher during her retirement.

Marion’s hobbies included scrapbooking & organizing.  She loved to plan reunions with her sisters and vacationing with her family & friends. Marion’s travels took her to Alaska, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, as well as multiple destinations throughout California & Nevada.  She took pride in attending all of her grandchildren’s activities from sporting events to award assemblies. Ultimately, Marion’s greatest love was her family and it didn’t matter what they were doing as long as everyone was together. She gifted her family with support, love, wisdom, kindness, and patience.

Please join her family for viewing services at McNary Moore funeral home 107 5thStreet, Colusa on Tuesday, July 16thfrom 5 to 8 p.m.  Mass will be held at the Church of the Annunciation 627 8th St, Williams on Wednesday, July 17that 10:30 a.m.  A reception will follow at Williams Community Center 315 9th Street Williams.
