Letter to the Editor – State of Jefferson

28

Dear Editor,

The founding of our country came about in part because a group of people had a conviction that too much control by an individual or an organized crowd of any kind was trouble.
Evidence for their believing this is easily found throughout history and we as a nation and especially as the State of California are sadly heading down this destructive path of giving up our rights to the state.

Even though it is good that we recognize the blood, sweat, and tears of our ancestors and former countrymen who fought and died for the freedoms we’ve been blessed with, we have to do our part and continue to battle for these God given rights or they will disappear and the sacrifice of many will be lost.

Untold numbers of conscientious and patriotic Americans over the past 243 plus years have warned us that — the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.

This fact is that governments by their nature always maneuver and work to subdue their people and too many in the political arena today have made no qualms saying so and making it their purpose, therefore, we need to remind them that they are not God. The eroding and blatant disregard for the rights that government was not supposed to alter is prevalent and far from the notion that they are to protect them for us not take them away.

Join the second amendment rally on Friday, September 6th at the Robert Matsui Courthouse, 501 I St., Sacramento. Please come wearing a holster with a pocket constitution. Flags, signs, and patriotic apparel is encouraged. Go to “tokeepandbear.com” for more information. Please join in.
