County Sports Recap



Colusa had an away game on Oct.11 in Durham, the Trojans fell to the RedHawks, 14-0. The next game will be at home on Oct. 18 against the Winters Warriors.

On Friday, at an away Modoc game against Alturas Braves, the Maxwell Panthers lost 39-0. On Friday, they will play another away game up in Weed against the Cougars.

Also away, Oct. 11, the Pierce Bears went to Willows to face off with the Honkers, bringing back a win 44-7. Friday will be a homecoming game against the Esparto Spartans.

The Princeton Eagles fell to the Burney Pirates 58-0 at an away game. They will have a chance to rise again on Oct. 18 when an Alumni home game will host the Chester Volcanoes.

At an Oct. 11 away game at Mt. Shasta Bears, the Williams Yellowjackets were defeated 45-20. This Friday is their homecoming game against University Prep Panthers from Redding.


The Lady RedHawks had an Oct. 3 away game against the Willows Honkers, losing 3-1, but turned it around for the Oct. 8 home game win 3-0 against Winters. Over the weekend at the Padre Invitational, the RedHawks won against Monterey 2-0, won against Aptos, 2-1, lost against Salinas, 2-1, lost to Carmel, 2-0, and won against Aptos, 2-0.

On Oct. 22, RedHawks will play at home against the Willows Honkers.

Maxwell won on Oct. 3 at an away game in Chico against Core Butte Lynx, 3-0. On Oct. 8, in an away game in Biggs, the Lady Panthers won 3-0. Finally, on Oct. 10, a home game against Portola also marked a win for the Panthers, 3-0. Thursday’s away game will be in Esparto against the Spartans.

Pierce Lady Bears were busy on Oct. 3 with an away game against the Winters Warriors, winning 3-0. The Bears repeated the win on Oct. 8, at a home game against Live Oak, 3-0.

Unfortunately, the weekend was not as victorious at the So Cal Invitational Tournament in San Diego. Against Faith Lutheran, the Bears lost 2-0, and lost to Bona Vista 2-0. Thursday’s home game will be against the Willows Honkers.

Princeton fell on Oct. 8 at an away game against the Paradise Adventists Academy Cougars, in Chico, for a loss 3-1. The Lady Eagles will play on Oct. 22 when the Elk Creek Elks come to Princeton to play.

Williams has had a difficult week of losses. The Lady Yellowjackets lost on Monday in an away game against East Nicolaus Spartans, 3-0. They lost Oct. 8 to the Durham Trojans 3-0, then on Oct, 10 lost at a home game against Hamilton Braves, 3-1. The Yellowjackets will have a chance at a second sting against Hamilton Braves at Thursday’s away game.


Colusa girls lost 7-2 on Oct. 10 in an away match in Live Oak.

Cross Country

On Oct. 9, in Durham, for varsity, Ari Sanchez from Pierce High School took second place at a time of 21:58.13, and Colusa’s Jacob Arce took third place for the boys coming in at 18:20.32. For JV, boys first place went to Cody Koregelos from Colusa at 13:35.58.

Lissandra Fuerte took third for Colusa girls when she clocked in at 17:04.39.

The next meet for Colusa, Pierce, and Williams will be today in Colusa at the Sacramento River State Recreation Area.
