The Los Molinos football team dialed up big plays defensively and offensively against the Maxwell Panthers last Friday in the 2019 CIF Northern Section Division V Football playoffs. Los Molinos shut Maxwell out with a 47-0 final score.
“Too many injuries to play a team of that caliber,” said Head Coach Russ Jones. “The boys did the best they could and just came up short.”
Defensively, the Panthers struggled allowing the Bulldogs to rush for three touchdowns in the first quarter. Offensively, the Panthers struggled to gain yards and never found the end zone.
With several injuries, the Panthers failed to make crucial plays and couldn’t keep pace with the Bulldogs offense, suffering a 47-0 loss to end their season.
“After four seasons, there isn’t anything more I could say about the sport that has taught me so much,” said senior quarterback, Trent Hendrix.
“We might fail, but we never fold,” stated Junior, Carlos Guerrero.
The Panthers end their season with a 4-7 record and will see eight of their players graduate in 2020. ■
