(03/27/2020 – 04:55 PM) Colusa County has implemented business continuity practices to ensure continued operation and available to serve the community. Most departments, with a few limited exceptions, remain open during normal business hours to provide services to the public. The County encourages the public to utilize email, telephone, and on-line services where possible. If an in-person visit is required please observe social distancing practices. (03/27/2020 – 11:05 AM) The County of Colusa received its first confirmation of a resident testing positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). The first confirmed case is an older-aged individual with underlying health conditions and history of international travel. The individual is at home in isolation. Read the press release.

(03/19/2020 – 06:46 PM ) – The County of Colusa Public Health Officer issued a directive restricting activities in response to the coronavirus. All individuals currently living within Colusa County are directed to shelter at their place of residence, except those persons needing to perform essential activities. The directive is effective at 11:59 PM on Friday, March 20 and will be in effect until 11:59 PM on Friday, April 10. Read the press release here. Read the directive here

(03/19/2020 – 03:38 PM) – The County of Colusa Public Health Department reported a drop in the number of People Under Investigation (PUI) from six (6) to one (1). There are zero (0) confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Colusa County at this time.

ARBUCKLE/COLLEGE CITY/GRIMES

► The Arbuckle Community Church has canceled all in-person meetings but has several online opportunities for individuals and families. Please see their website for more information. https://arbuckle.church

► The Arbuckle Revitalization Committee’s Spring Fiesta  has been canceled for this year.

► The Arbuckle Farmers Market has plans to open June 17 trough mid August. Held weekly on Wednesday from 4 PM to 7 PM in the LaVanche Hursh Park in Downtown Arbuckle.  been cancelled for this year.

COLUSA

In lieu of the in person registration on April 8, the Colusa Swim Team will host a virtual registration and parent Q&A at 2 PM on April 8 via Zoom. Information can be found online at www.colusaswimteam.com or on the groups Facebook page.

The May Surprise scheduled for the first weekend in May has been postponed to a later date.

The Colusa RedHawk Athletic Foundation’s Annual Golf Tournament has been rescheduled for Friday, May 1. 

The Colusa County Fairgrounds office will be closed to the public until further notice. Staff will be available by phone or by email.  

The Colusa County Fair Foundation announced that its annual meeting scheduled for March 25 has been postponed until a later date. 

Colusa County Office of Education’s Family Fair has been postponed until further notice.

Colusa City Firefighters Association Pancake Breakfast has been postponed until further notice. 

Colusa Rural Firefighters Comedy Night date has been rescheduled to Saturday, May 2.

WILLIAMS

The Williams Community Center will be closed for the month of April.

The Williams Community Center’s Monday Night Bingo has been postponed for the month of April.

The Williams Community Center Community Showcase has been postponed, and Monday Night Bingo has been postponed until May 4.

The Williams Community Center Art Show has been postponed until May 2.  

MAXWELL

COUNTYWIDE

The Colusa County Democratic Central Committee’s March 25 meeting will be held online, not in person. For details, go to www.colusacountydemocrats.org

The Senior Nutrition Congregate Lunch Program has been suspended starting Tuesday, March 17, in light of the latest directive that those aged 65 and older self-isolate.  Instead of hosting Seniors in the Morse Conference room at the Colusa Library, our DHHS department will be doing home deliveries until further notice. 

All Little League actives have been suspended until no earlier than May 11.

The UCCE “Training for field workers in Spanish” scheduled for March 24 has being postponed in order to comply with the guidelines released by the California Department of Public Health. We are working on rescheduling the event and will communicate the new date promptly. For more information call (530) 635-6234

COVID-19

COUNTY OF COLUSA

Arbuckle Family Action Center will be delivering USDA food to doorsteps in Arbuckle, Grimes, and Dunnigan on Friday, March 27. Phone requests for delivery will be accepted on Thursday, March 26, from 9 AM to 2 PM. 

Colusa County Library and its branches have closed its doors until further notice. Book drops are also closed. Any checked out library items have had their due dates extended to May 6. No late fees will be charged during this time.

Colusa County Jail announced it has suspended all visiting hours within the jail. Inmates will still have the capability to use phone services. Additional jail services have been approved within the jail to support the increased need. The jail lobby remains open at this time for the public to access other services including making deposits to inmate welfare trust.

Colusa County Transit remains in operation and is providing extra precautions and sterilizing each bus at the end of the day.

All Colusa County Library activities have been postponed though March 31. All Colusa County Library Branches will remain open at this time.


CITY OF COLUSA

Colusa Police Department announced it would suspend its front desk operations and walk-up services until further notice. Those needing service during business hours Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM is asked to call (530) 458-7777 for information. Emergency services is available 24/7 by phoning 911 or (530) 458-0200.


CITY OF WILLIAMS

Williams Police Department has closed its front and walk-up services until further notice. If the public is in the need of services from 8am to 5 PM, they are asked to call (530) 473-2661. Emergency services is available 24/7 by phoning 911 or (530) 458-0200.

The Offices of the City of Williams will be closed to limit person-to-person contact. Payments can be dropped off in the drop box at City Hall. During this time penalties will not be assess and services will not be disconnected.

 

Colusa County School District Information
COVID-19

Colusa Unified School District announced the closure of its K-12 schools starting Tuesday, March 17. 

  • Colusa Unified School District is providing breakfast and lunch for children 18 years old and under.  Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:45 AM and 9:30 AM.  The child must be present to receive the meals.  The meals are free and are being distributed at George T. Egling Middle School, 813 Webster Street, Colusa. CUSD will serve meals during the duration of school closure except for the week of our intended spring break April 13 through April 17. 

Maxwell Unified School District announced the closure of its K-12 schools starting Tuesday, March 17 through Friday, March 20.

  • The MUSD Food Services Department will provide free brunch/lunch to all MUSD children between 0-18 years of age. The meals can be picked up at Maxwell Elementary School Monday through Friday from 11:30 to 12:00. All meals will be grab and go style.

Pierce Joint Unified School District announced the closure of its K-12 schools starting Tuesday, March 17. 

  • Student Meals available to all children ages 0 to 18. Children do not need to be enrolled at PJUSD schools but must be present in the car at pick up. Breakfast and Lunch served from 11 AM to 12 PM at the Arbuckle Elementary School, Monday – Friday. Meals must be consumed off site.

Princeton Unified School District announced the closure of its K-12 schools starting Tuesday, March 17, through April 17.

  • Student Meals available to all children ages 0 to 18. Children do not need to be enrolled at PJUSD schools but must be present in the car at pick up. Breakfast and Lunch served from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Princeton High School, Monday – Friday. Meals must be consumed off site.

Williams Unified School District announced the closure of its K-12 schools starting Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, April 17. 

  • Student Meals available to all children ages 0 to 18. Children do not need to be enrolled at WUSD schools but must be present in the car at pick up.

Colusa County Office of Education Student Meals: Any child under the age of 18 can now receive a bag lunch in a car from 11:30am to 12:30pm M-F at the following drive-up locations: (1) Education Village – 499 Margurite St in Williams; and (2) Colusa Children’s Center – 705 6th St in Colusa. *The child must be present in the car to receive the bag lunch at these drive-up locations.

All Children’s Services programs, which includes State Preschools, Head Start classrooms, and home visiting will be closed beginning Wednesday, March 18 through April 17, 2020. Visit the Colusa County Office of Education’s website at: ccoe.net for information.
